MUSEO DELL'AROCA || MONFALCONE

Owned by the Monfalcone speleological group Amici del Fante, the museum is located in the specially restored rooms of the Rocca. Inaugurated in 1970, the museum presents a collection of various types of rocks, cave concretions, karst phenomena, descriptive tables illustrating the orographic areas and a model representing an ideal karst territory. This exhibition is accompanied, in the premises of via Valentinis 134, by a more strictly paleontological section: of particular interest the fossil fish of Polazzo (in the province of Gorizia) belonging to the Cretaceous period (85 million years ago)
