Becoming Christians
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” How often we hear this verse as a rallying cry to conquer anything life throws at us—career goals, school challenges, physical feats. But, if we’re honest, we sometimes twist this verse to mean, “With Christ, I can get whatever I want!” But that’s not Paul’s message.
Paul was in prison when he wrote these words, living out the message of enduring hardship for God’s purpose. Philippians 4:13 isn’t a promise to succeed at every venture we desire; it’s a reminder that Christ strengthens us for His mission, not our own. When you’re pursuing God’s will, even through loss, frustration, or disappointment, Christ empowers you. His strength is there not for our wish list but for our calling.
So, when life gets tough—and it will—know that His strength is sufficient. You’re not alone, and you’re not powerless. You’re upheld by God's purpose and that purpose is for you to be part of His family.
