Topic: Have I been bringing people to the Lord? (2 May 2025 - Only by Grace Reflections)

Today’s Gospel reading about the feeding of the five thousand is the only miracle of Jesus recorded in the four Gospels of Mark, John, Matthew, and Luke.

Only in John’s Gospel will we see the appearance of two major characters not mentioned in the other three—the boy who brought the five loaves and the two fish, and the apostle Andrew. In his version, St. John relates that Andrew brought the boy with the five loaves and the two fish to Jesus, and thereafter Jesus performed the multiplication of the bread and the fish to feed the five thousand.

Andrew’s desire to bring people to Jesus led to great outcomes in salvation history. Like Andrew, it will only be easy for us to bring people to Jesus, if we live a life aligned with His ways of humility, simplicity, compassion, and kindness.
