Forgiving is so difficult that the weak can never do it. But this is the Lord’s way without which we cannot be restored to Him and to one another. And since God opened Himself to forgive, there is no creature that should be too proud to forgive. For if there is someone most hurt by the tyranny of man, it is God Himself.
Unforgiveness is a shackle the key to which is held by the person himself. It is captivity not only to pride but to sin. God declared it a sin so no one can withhold forgiveness from anyone.
One who withholds forgiveness thinks himself perfect while the world sees him as someone miserable. Forgiveness is the privilege of giving someone peace, but most especially to oneself. Let us forgive and mean it. Blessed are they whose way is blameless.
