PRAYER TRANSFORMS LIFE | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (July 27, 2025) with Sign Language

Today is the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time; and in today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us lessons on prayer.

The first lesson is: We pray as children of God, seeking the holiness of His name and the coming of his kingdom. Then we pray for daily bread for forgiveness and protection. “The Lord’s Prayer” or “Our Father” transforms us into God’s children like Jesus.

Jesus also teaches us the value of persistence in prayer. Our trust in God’s benevolence is a call to heed the persistent cries of our neighbors. As God forgives us sinners, so we should forgive those who have sinned against us. As God gives good things to His children, especially the Holy Spirit, we should gladly respond to our neighbors’ needs according to our means.
