Don't need to look for a helpmeet

One of the biggest blessings of my life is my wife...

but had I met her even 3 month sprior to when I did, we would have never worked out.

In other words, if God had answered my longings for a partner when I wanted him to... my life would look significantly different than it does now (arguably, worse than it is now).

So for what it's worth, my advice, is to bloom where you're planted, focus on what God places in front of you and trust that He has a good plan for your life!
