TOPIC: IS MY HEART ON FIRE WITH THE FULLNESS OF GOD'S TRANSFORMING LOVE?

First Reading: Ephesians 3: 14-21
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 33: 1-2, 4-5, 11-12, 18-19
Alleluia: Philippians 3: 8-9
Gospel: Luke 12: 49-53

The Lord wants us to experience the blazing fire of the Holy Spirit so that our will be filled with the fullness of God's love. But before our hearts can be filled with His love, we need to be prepared. Our hearts need to be emptied, cleansed, expanded, and transformed.

The desires that do not correspond to God's desires must be rejected. Our faults, our sins, or weaknesses must be surrendered to His grace when we come to Confession. And it is this sacramental grace that helps us be renewed and transformed by His Holy Spirit. Then our life's journey becomes a pilgrimage of receiving from God, purging what is not of God, and growing in likeness to God.

May the example of St. Catherine of Siena be our guide in sharing the divine power that will transform our life and help those around us experience the same.

This is the 1642nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Rouquel Ponte, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
