Topic: How long can I keep my faith while waiting for the Lord’s answer to my prayers? (29 July 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)
First Reading: Exodus 33:7-11; 34:5b-9, 28
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 103:6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13
Alleluia: John 8:12
Gospel: John 11:19-27
In today’s Gospel, our Lord Jesus Christ seemed to arrive late; for Lazarus had already died—something that could’ve been prevented if He had arrived earlier. But He didn’t disappoint Martha’s faith, when she professed, “But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." And we know that our Lord indeed raised Lazarus from the dead after that.
We experience the same thing Martha did when we feel that God is not answering or granting our prayers. But after a period of waiting, we experience His blessings in a way that exceeds all our expectations. Indeed, God works things out in His own way, in His perfect time!
