Creators of Hope - Project Paglaum (Philippines)

Project Paglaum is an environmental awareness project that aims to engage the youth of Antique, especially in the town of Culasi, in storytelling focused on biodiversity conservation. It seeks to inspire community members to appreciate nature and empower them to advocate for the environment. The key activity of the project is the self-and-ecology workshop that aims to immerse participants in nature through a transect walk and photowalk, to allow them to reflect on ecology and their role in it, and to prompt them to use storytelling to encapsulate their experiences.

The project was initiated by Javie Barcinal. He is the founder and chairperson of Dulungan Youth, a youth-led environmental grassroots organization that seeks to inspire local youth leaders in Antique through community immersion and conservation storytelling.
