84 million more children now have a legal identity.
But the work is not yet done.
At the 3rd Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in Asia and the Pacific, children and youth are stepping up to be heard.
📉 In just 10 years, the number of unregistered children under five dropped from 135 million to 51 million—real progress.
⚠️ Yet, 1 in 6 children under five remain unregistered, and 14 million babies go unregistered each year.
To amplify their voices, young leaders from Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka came together to create a powerful joint video statement. Developed through national and regional consultations, the video shares their stories, ideas, and recommendations to ensure every child is counted and protected. 🎥
They’re not just sharing stories.
They’re calling for action.
They’re shaping the future of civil registration and vital statistics.
👧🏽👦🏾 Hear from Ador, CNa, Za, Ppha, Chaidden, Huad, Undarmaa, Aadharsha, Kripa, and Amarta as they speak up for every child’s right to be seen, heard, and protected.
