Creating a SAFE PLACE for LGBTQ in our Churches

“You know what became crucial in my healing? It’s not 20 sermons on how to get out of homosexuality. It’s not throwing the Bible verses to me that I will go to hell if I don’t get out of homosexuality. It’s a simple gesture of a straight man who stretched his arms wide to me, looked me straight in the eye, and said, ‘Benji, I know you’re struggling with same-sex attraction. I know who you are, but I love you. I want to embrace you.’ And you know what, I walked right into those open arms. And my body hungry—never been embraced by my father to this day—felt the love of Jesus with a skin on it.
And if every man in the church will give that, I am telling you, this LGBT problem will evaporate.”
