Constantius was born at Fabriano, Italy, early in the 15th century, and at fifteen he entered the Dominicans, becoming a preaching friar thanks to the guidance of excellent teachers. He did his utmost to favor the internal reform of the order and strove for peace, trying to eliminate all discord among the families in the cities – Fabriano, Perugia and Ascoli – where he was an active preacher, He died in Ascoli in 1481.
In art, he is depicted in the white habit and black mantle of the Dominicans.
NAME: Constantius is from the Latin and means “constant’ steadfast.”
