The Sovereign, the Court, and the Prayer

1. The Sovereign: God Reigns Over All
Psalm 103:19 says, “The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.”

- He is the King of kings – above every earthly power.
- He is the Judge of all the earth – completely just, completely holy.
- And yet, through Christ, He is also our Abba, Father.

2. The Court: The Heavenly Council
In the book of Job, we see the divine court: “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord…” (Job 1:6)

-Through Jesus, we have access to the heavenly council
Hebrews 10:19: “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus…”

3. The Prayer: Our Access, Our Weapon
Prayer is not a ritual—it’s a legal and spiritual act. When we pray, we make petitions before the throne. Jesus is our Advocate (1 John 2:1), and the Holy Spirit is our Intercessor (Romans 8:26). We are never alone in that courtroom.

When a believer prays:
A. Angels are dispatched. (Daniel 10:12–13)
B. Heaven moves.
C. Chains break.
D. Lives shift.
E. God listens.
