What is Facial Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM)
Loida Bauto
Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are defects in the vascular system, consisting of tangles of abnormal blood vessels (nidus). An AVM can occur anywhere in the body, but brain and spinal AVMs can cause serious damages when they bleed.
I have Brain AVM. I created this video to help spread AVM Awareness to the world. I hope this helps :)

AVM Philippines is an online community of AVM patients and survivors in the country created in April 14, 2014.
AVM is short for arteriovenous malformation. AVM are defects in the vascular system, consisting of tangles of abnormal blood vessels (nidus). An AVM can occur anywhere in the body, but brain and spinal AVMs can cause serious damages when they bleed. When an AVM ruptures, it may cause temporary or permanent damages and disability to the patient or, worse, death.
Our group now has more than 600 members, composed of 300 patients and survicors, their families, relatives, and friends.
AVM Philippines aims to give support to people and their families affected by this condition thru sharing our struggles and educating one another with our own experiences.
We have a mission to spread awareness in our country until AVM is no longer a condition unknown to many. We also hope that by spreading awareness, medical intervention will be possible to help lessen the cost of treatments and that treatments will finally be available in public hospitals.
AVM PH hopes to become an established non-government organization that can provide help and assistance to AVM patients nationwide.
Join us in our mission! You can partner with us! Let's talk!
