Sabrina was burdened by her family's constant quarrels and disagreements, which often escalated to barangay hearings to resolve their issues. She felt deeply neglected by her siblings after their mother's death. Unbeknownst to Sabrina, her brother Hector was ill. Despite his condition, Hector was very helpful to their neighbors, which Sabrina strongly resented as she craved her brother's attention.
Hector often tried to restrain his sisters from quarreling, advising them to reconcile to avoid negatively influencing Sabrina's behavior. However, tensions rose when one of his sisters revealed that Hector had sold their house and lot. When confronted, Hector explained that their parents owed money to Mr. Chen, which they needed to repay with their property within three months.
To their amazement, on the day they were supposed to vacate their property, the siblings learned that the neighbors whom Hector had helped had pooled their money to pay off their parents' debt to Mr. Chen, allowing the family to keep their home.
