Devotional Message:
(Luke 10:2)
"He told them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'"

Imagine a vast field ready for harvest. The crops are ripe, and the time is perfect for gathering them. But there's a problem – there aren’t enough workers to bring in the harvest. This is the picture Jesus paints for us. The "harvest" represents people who are ready to hear and accept the message of God's love and salvation. The "workers" are those who share this message.

Jesus tells us that many people are ready to hear about God, but there are not enough people willing to share the good news. He encourages us to pray and ask God to send more workers into His field.

Let's break this down into three practical points:

1. Recognize the Need:
There are countless people around us who are looking for hope, love, and meaning in their lives. They might be our family members, friends, neighbors, or colleagues. They are the harvest Jesus is talking about. We need to be aware of their needs and be ready to help them find the answers in God's word.

2. Be the Workers:
Jesus doesn't just ask us to pray for more workers; He calls us to be those workers. We might feel unprepared or inadequate, but remember, God equips those He calls. Sharing our faith can be as simple as showing kindness, listening to someone’s troubles, or sharing how God has worked in our own lives.

3. Pray for More Workers:
Jesus specifically asks us to pray for more people to join in the work. This means praying for others to have the courage and willingness to share their faith. It also means supporting and encouraging those who are already doing this important work.

As we go about our daily lives, let’s keep this verse in our hearts. Let’s look for opportunities to share God's love with others. It might be through a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear. And let’s not forget to pray for more workers – for more people who will step up and help gather the harvest.

Remember that the harvest is plentiful, and though the workers may be few, each of us can make a significant difference. Let’s ask God to use us in His harvest field and to raise up more workers to join us.
