Topic: Can I trust that God will not forsake me no matter what I’m going through? (12 August 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Deuteronomy 31:1-8
Responsorial Psalm: Deuteronomy 32:3-4ab, 7, 8, 9 and 12
Alleluia: Matthew 11:29ab
Gospel: Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

In today’s Gospel, our Lord Jesus Christ addresses his followers, the crowd, about how we should be like a little child, that we should imitate their humility, as that is more valuable in heaven’s perspective. And like little children, who have great value in God’s eyes, so does the lost sheep—even a single sheep among a hundred—will be sought out by the Good Shepherd.

It is the same with all of us, we have our littleness, our sinfulness, our sense of insignificance many times, but we are reminded by our Lord Jesus Christ that each one of us is valuable in His eyes no matter what. And that comes with the care that only He can give; He will do everything just to allow us to experience the fullness of life.
