TOPIC: WHAT IS THE HIDDEN REASON BEHIND MIRACLES?
First Reading: Isaiah 25: 6-10a
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 23: 1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6
Gospel: Matthew 15: 29-37
Brothers and sisters, we could witness or experience miracles when we get closer or are brought closer to Christ. The sick are healed when they follow Christ and allow themselves to be brought to the feet of Jesus. It is Jesus who heals. It is Jesus who performs the miracles.
As to the reason behind the miracles, let us continue with the Gospel reading today. God’s mercy is the reason behind miracles. God loves us so much that after healing us, He makes sure that we reach home, once He sends us off. Indeed, God is good! He performs miracles because He wants us to live a good life and be redeemed. His miracles are signs of His loving presence. He performs miracles because He wants us to partake in the Feast that He prepared for us.
Brothers and sisters, the reason behind the miracles being God’s mercy, the greatest and the most astonishing miracle of all is this—forgiveness.
This is the 1683rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Arnel Santos, a member of the CFC Board of Elders and Mission Head for Asia, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
