TOPIC: WHO ARE THE GREAT ONES AND WHO ARE THE “PASAWAY” (STUBBORN)?
First Reading: First Corinthians 12: 31 – 13: 13
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 33: 2-3, 4-5, 12 and 22
Alleluia: John 6: 63c, 68c
Gospel: Luke 7: 31-35
Brothers and sisters, today we are invited not to be contented with what is right; let us pursue what is the more noble and the greatest. Let us not stop at what is a good way; let us go for the most excellent way. Let us not just live a righteous life, let us live a life of love, full of genuine love.
To journey to this kind of an excellent life, Jesus Christ will always remind and repeatedly rebuke the "pasaway" in us, because Jesus loves us so much. This is wisdom — to allow oneself to be taught, scolded, rebuked and disciplined by our Forgiving, Merciful and Loving God.
This is the 1606th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Arnel Santos, a member of the CFC Board of Elders and CFC Asia Mission Head, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
