Topic: Do I trust that God is always with me in every moment of my life? (1 July 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Genesis 19:15-29
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 26:2-3, 9-10, 11-12
Psalm: Psalm 130:5
Gospel: Matthew 8:23-27

In our Gospel today, our Lord Jesus Christ admonished His disciples when they saw Him asleep during a storm in the middle of the sea. Jesus called their attention to the kind of faith they have. While being afraid in such a situation seems understandable, they had forgotten one important matter: that the Christ who taught with utmost integrity, the One who heals and worked miracles, was with them.

It is a reality, that whenever we go through storms in life, even if we have already experienced God’s blessings and graces many times in our lives, we still fear; we still stumble; we lose sight of God who has consistently been there for us.

Maybe at times, we forget that having God in our lives doesn’t mean having zero problems, but rather, it means that despite tough moments, God is always with us. He never leaves us—not even for a single moment; and that is what faith is all about!
