TOPIC: When a loved one makes a mistake, am I quick to criticize?
Reading 1: Isaiah 43:16-21
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6
Gospel: John 8:1-11
Reading 2: Philippians 3:8-14
In this passage, a woman caught in sin is brought before Jesus. The religious leaders want to punish her, but Jesus responds with wisdom and compassion. He says, “Let him who is without sin be the first to throw a stone.” One by one, the accusers leave, and Jesus, the only one truly without sin, chooses not to condemn her. Instead, He tells her, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more.”
This is a powerful lesson for family life. Sometimes, we are quick to criticize our loved ones when they make mistakes. But just as Jesus showed mercy, we, too, should be patient and forgiving towards our family members.
