TOPIC: HOW CAN I FIGHT FEAR WITH FAITH?
First Reading: Hebrews 11: 1-2, 8-19
Responsorial Psalm: Luke 1: 69, 70-72, 73-75
Alleluia: John 3: 16
Gospel: Mark 4: 35-41
The Gospel message highlights that we can trust in Jesus’ presence and authority to bring peace and calm, reminding us to rely on faith even when facing fear and uncertainty. The disciples' panicked reaction serves as a mirror to our own struggles with doubt when confronted with adversity, while Jesus immediately responds with a simple command to "Be still.”
The disciples' fear in the storm expresses our own struggles with anxiety and doubt when facing life's challenges. Their terrified question, "Do you not care that we are perishing?" reflects a moment when faith is tested. Despite being asleep during the storm, Jesus was fully aware of the situation and immediately responds to the disciples' plea, demonstrating His constant care and concern for those who trust in Him.
This is the 1742nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado, Country Coordinator for CFC Egypt, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
