TOPIC: IS JESUS THE LIGHT OF VOUR LIFE?
First Reading: Acts 5: 17-26
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 34: 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9
Alleluia: John 3: 16
Gospel: John 3: 16-21
In today's Gospel reading, Nicodemus sought out an encounter with Jesus and came at night. With all the controversies swirling in the Sanhedrin about the teachings of Jesus, he was probably fearful of being seen with Him.
Thus the nighttime might have symbolized the spiritual darkness in which man lives apart from God. Yet in the darkness, Jesus declares what might be the very heart of God's plan for the world; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but might have eternal life". Nicodemus must have been intrigued by the implications of the words of Jesus on his Judaic upbringing. Yet what he saw and heard about Jesus clearly drew him to seek the Lord.
This is the 1444th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, South Asia Regional Coordinator and Provincial Area Head of Bataan, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
