TOPIC: DO I PRAY WITH FULL FAITH IN GOD?
First Reading: First John 5: 5-13
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 147: 12-13, 14-15, 19-20
Alleluia: Matthew 4: 23
Gospel: Luke 5: 12-16
The spirit of the prayer of the leper is the same as Jesus’ prayer to the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from Me; still, not My will but Yours be done.” In this prayer of Jesus, He expresses His desire to avoid the suffering and crucifixion He is about to endure, while also submitting to His Father's will. Brothers and sisters, our prayer to our Lord must be the total manifestation of our faith in Him. It’s not just lifting and entrusting to Him our petitions, which He already knows anyway, but more importantly, it’s submitting to His will, knowing that He will do what is best for us and for His greater glory.
This is the 1720th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Harris Jacildo, the Sector Leader of CFC Metro Manila South B, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
