TOPIC: IS IT REALLY GOD'S WILL THAT MOVES OUR HEART IN THE CHOICES WE MAKE?
First Reading: Hosea 10: 1-3, 7-8, 12
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 105: 2-3, 4-5, 6-7
Alleluia: Mark 1: 15
Gospel: Matthew 10: 1-7
In today's Gospel reading, we find Jesus and some disciples on the verge of making fateful decisions. The scribe generously offered himself to the Lord unconditionally, but was instead reminded of the cost of being a disciple. This scribe wanted to follow the Lord but he did not yet possess the total freedom of heart that a life with Christ demands. One becomes identified with Christ not through the learning of dogma or accumulation of doctrine, but by living a common life with Christ born from union with the Master's will.
This is the 1534th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, South Asia Regional Coordinator and Provincial Area Head of Bulacan, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
