TOPIC: ARE WE REJECTING GOD'S PLAN FOR US?

Cornerstone
/noun/: cornerstone; plural noun: cornerstones; noun: corner-stone; plural noun: corner-stones
1. an important quality or feature on which a particular thing depends or is based.
2.a stone that forms the base of a corner of a building, joining two walls.

In ancient times, stonemasons would go to the stone mines and go through all the stones, reject so many, until they find what they believe to be the most solid stone. With that stone rests the entire foundation of a structure. In the same way, scripture describes Christ as the stone rejected by many, but one who will become the cornerstone of our faith. In the words of St. John Paul the Great, Jesus is the stone chosen by God as the cornerstone that unites the Church through His sacrifice, and attracts those who have turned away to come back to God. As His followers, we are living stones, designed by God to serve our brothers and sisters under Christ's headship. Are we up to it?
