Today’s Gospel is a continuation of yesterday’s reading where the Lord emphasized the need to remain connected to him for our lives to bear much fruit. Jesus speaks of remaining in his love just as he has kept his Father’s commandments and remained in his love.
But some may ask, how can I have joy in my life right now when I just lost my job, or my wife has a serious illness, and my children may have to stop school and the members of my household are not faithful to their commitments?
Yet, Jesus tells us that if we remain connected to him who is the source of our peace in times of turmoil, our courage when fear afflicts us, our steady anchor during the storms in our life and most of all, God who will never forsake nor abandon us ⏤ we will experience true joy even in midst of life’s difficulties.
This is the 1124th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
