TOPIC: DO I SEEK TO BE PLEASED OR TO PLEASE THE LORD?
First Reading: Isaiah 48: 17-19
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 1: 1-2, 3, 4 and 6
Gospel: Matthew 11: 16-19
The season of Advent calls us to be open to the Lord’s presence regardless of how He may present Himself to us. We should be open to the many ways the Lord is present to us. In the imagery of the Gospel reading, the Lord may come to us during joyful occasions, signified by the happy sound of pipes, or in sorrowful times, represented by the mournful sound of dirges. In any case, we must stay vigilant and responsive to His many visits throughout our lives.
This is the 1692nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
