Topic: Am I too busy to show God’s mercy? (13 July 2026 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Deuteronomy 30: 10-14
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 69: 14, 17, 30-31, 33-34, 36, 37 or Psalms 19: 8, 9, 10, 11
Second Reading: Colossians 1: 15-20
Alleluia: John 6: 63c, 68c
Gospel: Luke 10: 25-37

A man was beaten and left on the side of the road. Two religious men saw him—but walked past, too preoccupied with their duties. Only one man, a Samaritan—a stranger and an outsider—chose to stop. He crossed the road, looked with compassion, paused, drew near, and responded to the man’s pain with mercy and action.

Jesus is asking us to do the same. To live a faith that is not just felt, but lived. Like the Good Samaritan—and like Blessed Giuseppe Toniolo, a husband, father, and economist who “crossed the road” not once, but daily, with Gospel conviction and love in action.
