First Reading: Isaiah 42: 1-7

Gospel: John 12: 1-11

Jesus' moment for Mary reminds us that while caring for others, especially the poor is essential, our personal expressions of love and devotion to Jesus are just as important. Mary gave generously and boldly, without holding back. Her love overflowed in a way that seemed excessive to others, but not to Jesus.

Are you holding anything back in your love for Jesus? Maybe it’s time. Maybe it’s attention. Maybe it’s a sacrificial gift, or a hidden act of service. Maybe it’s surrendering control or spending time in prayer when it’s inconvenient. The world might not understand it. It might not even feel like “enough.” But to Jesus, the act of pouring out our hearts in love, like Mary, is never wasted.
