TOPIC: DO I BRING MY DOUBTS AND QUESTIONS TO JESUS IN PRAYER AND LISTEN TO HIS WORD?

First Reading: Sirach 48: 1-4, 9-11
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 80: 2ac and 3b, 15-16, 18-19
Alleluia: Luke 3: 4, 6
Gospel: Matthew 17: 9a, 10-13

We may fear suffering, as the Apostles did, but let us keep our eyes on Jesus and not lose hope. He doesn’t promise to take away all the difficulties, but He, God-with-us, Emmanuel, is with us through them all.

When the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist, they experienced the Holy Spirit at work, opening  and enlightening their hearts and minds. We must remember that this “awakening” or insight  follows when we have the courage to ask Jesus questions. He invites us to speak up in prayer, persevere, and bring our challenges and difficulties to Him with the same openness and sincerity as His Apostles did.

This is the 1693rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado, Country Coordinator for CFC Egypt, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
