TOPIC: DO WE FORGIVE AS GOD HAS FORGIVEN US?

First Reading: Daniel 3: 25, 34-43
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 25: 4-5ab, 6 and 7bc, 8-9
Verse Before the Gospel: Joel 2: 12-13
Gospel: Matthew 18: 21-35

Today’s Gospel emphasizes on forgiveness as the rightful disposition in dealing with those who have wronged us. However, this can be difficult. Forgiveness requires compassion, to be loving even to those who have hurt us. But, if we place ourselves in the other person’s shoes and remember how we, too, have wronged others, it can become easier for us to forgive. May God continue to give us the grace to ponder on the times we have displeased Him, and the mercy and compassion He has never failed to show us. Let this be our example in showing mercy to others.

This is the 1068th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our sister Evelyn Ylagan, CFC HOLD International Coordinator, as she brings us today’s reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
