TOPIC: DO YOU BELIEVE THAT IT IS GOD WHO CHOSE YOU FOR THE MISSION?

First Reading: Acts 1: 15-17, 20-26
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 113: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8
Alleluia: John 15: 16
Gospel: John 15: 9-17

Jesus calls His disciples to keep His commandment ⏤ to love one another. He further affirms them that “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain…”.

As we encounter the Lord and experience His love, we need to recognize that His call includes our duty to love our brethren. Oftentimes, we desire to confirm that it is really God who is calling us. There are many voices around us and within us that at times blur the clarity of God’s call. There are also times when we doubt if we are worthy of the call.

Christ’s reminder gives us great consolation ⏤ that in His call to partake in His mission to love, it is He who chooses us personally. To love our brethren is not only our personal choice, but rather, God’s call. It is God’s choice that we partake in His mission.

This is the 1478th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
