Alleluia: John 14: 23
Gospel: Luke 17: 7-10
As servants, our purpose is to serve. However, serving the Lord is not easy. It entails a lot of sacrifices and giving up of things that matter to us. Our gospel today reminds us of the right posture we should adopt as a servant – to focus on our mission and to find contentment and joy in just being able to serve our neighbor and our God.
Sometimes we may feel the need to be acknowledged, or to be given some benefits that we think is due us, or at least to receive some more affirmation that remind us of our worth in doing good. In reality, however, we may never receive the affirmations we expect as we serve. We can only thank the Lord when we do receive such affirmations.
This is the 1299th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
