What is so special about the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross? We remember not only the finding of the Cross, but also to celebrate how an instrument of shame was used to overcome death, bringing salvation and eternal life to man. The Cross is at the very center of Christian faith. The same Cross manifests to all men God's love for the world.
On this feast, we pray for the grace of faith to trust in the Lord's ways. The mystery of the cross is perhaps the greatest evidence of the truth of what the Prophet Isaiah spoke so many years ago: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways ⏤ “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)
This is the 1602nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado, Country Coordinator for CFC Egypt, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
