TOPIC: WHAT CAN WE DO TO ACCOMPLISH THE WORKS OF GOD?

First Reading: Acts 6: 8-15
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 119: 23-24, 26-27, 29-30
Alleluia: Matthew 4: 4b
Gospel: John 6: 22-29

"What can we do to accomplish the works of God? "

Jesus basically tells His disciples that God's work cannot be accomplished from worldly pursuits. The crowd's pursuit of Jesus for more bread is a metaphor for our own pursuit of worldly things, which Jesus is urging us to reconsider.

The crowd went after Jesus because of the loaves of bread he gave out. However, Jesus is telling us today that he is not just merely a provider of bread, but HE IS THE BREAD! .

This is the 1449th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva, Mission Head for CFC Europe and the Americas, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
