First Reading: Zephaniah 3: 14-18a
Responsorial Psalm: Isaiah 12: 2-3, 4, 5-6
Second Reading: Philippians 4: 4-7
Alleluia: Isaiah 61: 1
Gospel: Luke 3: 10-18
John the Baptist urges repentance, challenging us to turn from selfishness, injustice, and sin, and to live lives that show God’s love, justice, and mercy.
This is an ongoing call to align our hearts with God’s will and to prepare for a deeper encounter with Jesus.
John also speaks of the coming Messiah and reminds us that, like Him, we are called to prepare the way for others, especially the least, the last, and the lost.
May we be inspired by the example of Blessed Chiara Badano, who shows that holiness is attainable at every stage of life through selfless love and trust in God. Her life urges us to embrace our crosses with joy and to shine Christ’s light in the world.
This is the 1694th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our sister Sally Silud, wife of Regional Coordinator for East Asia Israel Slid, as she brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
