TOPIC: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR NEIGHBOR LATELY?

First Reading: Wisdom 6: 1-11
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 82: 3-4, 6-7
Alleluia: First Thessalonians 5: 18
Gospel: Luke 17: 11-19

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus was about to enter a village in the border between Galilee and Samaria when He met ten lepers, who asked Him to have pity on them. Being lepers meant that they are also shunned by society. The laws of Moses were very clear: always be on the lookout for “swelling, a scab, or a bright spot.” If a sore appeared deeper than the skin of the person’s body, then it was considered a leprous sore. The priest was commanded to examine the person and pronounce him or her unclean, to be separated from others completely.

He healed the ten lepers in the borderlands. We ourselves may want to visit those hidden borders within us. May we recognize Him in those same borders and ask Him for healing and a new outpouring of a grateful love that completely heals.

This is the 1300th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, Head of Gateway Evangelization, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
