Topic: Am I trying to do all I can to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect? (17 June 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)
First Reading: 2 Corinthians 8:1-9
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 146:2, 5-6ab, 6c- 7, 8-9a
Alleluia: John 13:34
Gospel: Matthew 5:43-48
Managing emotion is already a struggle for many, responding to daily concerns in a Christian way is indeed a tough work to be done which needs consistency in our words and actions and our engagements with people around us. Christ lived a life consistently right in the spirit of the law, in spite of his poverty and persecutions he went through, manifesting the love and mercy of His Heavenly Father.
For anyone who is thinking how can one attain perfection in following Christ with our human weaknesses and limitations, Pope Francis reminded us, “Saints are not supermen who are born perfect, but rather are ordinary people who followed God with all their heart."
