TOPIC: WILL I BE READY WHEN JESUS RETURNS?
First Reading: Daniel 12: 1-3
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 16: 5, 8, 9-10, 11
Second Reading: Hebrews 10: 11-14, 18
Alleluia: Luke 21: 36
Gospel: Mark 13: 24-32
In today's Gospel, Jesus invites us to live with a sense of readiness, embracing faith and trust in God.
Jesus speaks of the end times, using imagery of darkness, falling stars, and cosmic shifts. He foretells the coming of the Son of Man, who will gather the faithful from all corners of the earth. Jesus emphasizes that while these signs will indicate the approaching fulfillment of God's kingdom, no one knows the exact day nor hour ⏤ not even the angels nor the Son ⏤ only the Father.
Instead of worrying about when the end will come, we are encouraged by Jesus to focus on how we live each day, preparing our hearts for God's promises and cultivating a deep, enduring faith. May we be inspired and moved by St. Ignatius of Loyola's disposition captured in the phrase "finding God in all things, and finding all things in God.
This is the 1666th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our sister Sally Silud, wife of Regional Coordinator for East Asia Israel Slid, as she brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
