TOPIC: DO MY FAITH EXPERIENCES MAKE ME GROW IN HUMILITY BEFORE OUR GOD?
First Reading: Isaiah 1: 10, 16-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 50: 8-9, 16bc-17, 21 and 23
Verse Before the Gospel: Ezekiel 18: 31
Gospel: Matthew 23: 1-12
In our gospel today, our Lord Jesus Christ spoke to the crowds and His disciples and reminded them about proper posture of one who desires to truly follow and serve God – that one must be humble and submit to the lordship of our God.
We may have attained much experience or acquired certain level of knowledge about faith, but this does not give us the right or privilege to assume higher position or expect more respect than the others, but rather should make us humble enough to continue to acknowledge the authority and lordship of our God.
This is the 1789th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
