Topic: Am I loving my family and neighbor the way Jesus commands us to? (18 May 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Acts 14: 21-27
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 145: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13
Second Reading: Revelation 21: 1-5a
Alleluia: John 13: 34
Gospel: John 13: 31-33a, 34-35

Like his predecessor, Pope Leo XIV is driven by a profound commitment to the poor — a calling he embraced during his years as a missionary in the impoverished areas of Peru.

Beyond grand gestures, his life in Peru was a daily testimony to selfless love. He drove a pickup truck to deliver supplies during floods, played tennis with locals to connect with them, and transformed churches into shelters and soup kitchens.

Today, Pope Leo XIV’s leadership serves as a reminder that faith is not about words but about living Christ’s love — in service, in compassion, in unity. May we love our family and one another as Jesus loved us just like Pope Leo XIV, who embodied this Gospel message throughout his life.
