Topic: How do I celebrate the feast of Easter with joy and thanksgiving for the victory which Jesus has won for us? (19 April 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

Epistle Reading: Romans 6: 3-11
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 118: 1-2, 16-17, 22-23
Gospel: Luke 24: 1-12

Like the women who visited Jesus' empty tomb, we encounter tombstones in the emptiness left by the death of our loved ones, in the failures and fears that hold us back from accomplishing the good we are mean to do”, but also “in all the forms of self-absorption that stifle our impulses to generosity and sincere love.”

Yet, Pope Francis remarked, the same women who bore this darkness in their hearts tell us something quite extraordinary: when they looked up, they saw that that heavy stone had already been rolled back, revealing God’s power: “the victory of life over death, the triumph of light over darkness, the rebirth of hope amid the ruins of failure.”
