Topic: When we meet trials and difficulties, do we rely on God's help and grace? (19 July 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)
First Reading: Exodus 12:37-42
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 136:1 and 23-24, 10-12, 13-15
Alleluia: 2 Corinthians 5:19
Gospel: Matthew 12:14-21
Jesus' withdrawal demonstrates that sometimes the wisest course of action is to avoid unnecessary conflict, especially when it allows for continued ministry and service. Jesus met the Pharisees’ defiance with courage and determination to do His Father's will.
In essence, Matthew 12:14-21 presents a powerful image of Jesus as the gentle and merciful Messiah who, despite facing hostility, remains focused on fulfilling His mission of healing, hope, and salvation for all people, including the Gentiles.
