Simeon’s whole life was in tune with the Holy Spirit. He spent his days in the temple in prayer and worship and in humble and faithful expectation for the day that the Lord would comfort His people. As the days and months grew into years, he never lost hope. When Joseph and Mary presented the child Jesus in the temple, Simeon immediately recognized the lord’s presence in his temple. Through eyes of faith he saw the infant Jesus as the fulfillment of all messianic prophecies, hopes, and prayers of the people of Israel. Inspired by the Holy Spirit he prophesied that Jesus would be “a revealing light to the Gentiles”. Jesus came not only as “Light and Salvation” for the people of Israel, but for all nations as well.

This is the 1376th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer, Head of the CFC Migrants Program, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
