Topic: What is stealing my peace? (2 June 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Acts 19:1-8
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 68:2-3ab, 4-5acd, 6-7ab
Alleluia: Colossians 3:1
Gospel: John 16:29-33

Today's Gospel forms part of the Last Supper Discourse, where Jesus tells His disciples that the world was going to get rough. That following Him wasn’t always going to be easy. But in the middle of all that, He says something amazing: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.”

Not the world’s kind of peace. Not just comfort or quiet. But something way deeper, peace that holds you together when everything else is falling apart, and that peace comes from staying connected to Him.

He also warned that the world might hate us for standing in the truth, for living differently. And let’s be real, today, that can look like being misunderstood, left out, or even mocked for your faith. But in the middle of all that chaos, Jesus says: “I’ve got you. And I’m giving you My peace.”
