Topic: WILL YOU FOLLOW JESUS ALL THE WAY?

First Reading: First Corinthians 15: 12-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 17: 1bcd, 6-7, 8b and 15
Alleluia: Matthew 11: 25
Gospel: Luke 8: 1-3

The twelve apostles have made a lasting impact in the spread of Jesus' teaching and are always remembered and etched in the history of Christianity. However, the role of the women in Jesus' group was as important and critical. In today's Gospel reading, the women who traveled with Jesus were not just financially supporting the mission but risking their reputation, as well as that of Jesus and His followers. The women's presence among Jesus' disciples was countercultural and highly uncommon. With their different social background, it was an unusual company. One had a dark and troubled past, while another had an influential status, whose husband was Herod's financial controller. Yet they chose to follow Jesus and risk it all. What brings them together and into harmonious company is the love of Jesus, who likened the church to a great tree in which all sorts of birds can seek refuge.

This is the 1602nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
