First Reading: Songs 2: 8-14 or Zephaniah 3: 14-18a
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 33: 2-3, 11-12, 20-21
Gospel: Luke 1: 39-45
Our readings for today speaks of love – our first reading from the Song of Songs speaks of a lover who uses every possible means to reach and woo his beloved. There is an exuberant eagerness in his love as he comes “springing across the mountains, leaping across the hills”. No obstacle is too high for him. These are words of hope for people who are beloved of God and longing for the coming of the Messiah.
As Christians, we recognize the young lover in this song of love as our Lord Jesus, who comes with joyful love to find His beloved bride, the Church, and He promises to be faithful to her forever.
This is the 1336th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Rouquel Ponte, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
