TOPIC: AM I READY TO LOVE BY WILLING THE GOOD OF THE OTHER?

First Reading: Revelation 5: 1-10
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 149: 1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b
Alleluia: Psalms 95: 8
Gospel: Luke 19: 41-44

My brothers and sisters, let us examine our life today; are we offering ourselves as gifts to God and neighbor? Do our words and actions reflect this virtue? May we take to heart what John 12:24 teaches us: "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat, but if it dies, it produces much fruit." Our self-gift to God may be difficult, but let these words of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta encourage us: "True love is love that causes us pain, that hurts, and yet brings us joy."

This is the 1670th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Rouquel Ponte, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, and the International Coordinator of the CFC Servants of the Lord, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
