TOPIC: HOW DO I HONOR MARY AS QUEEN OF HEAVEN AND EARTH?

Today's liturgical feast is the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast comes eight days after the Solemnity of the Assumption, which makes it an octave celebration honoring our Blessed Mother. She is not an equal to her Son, the King, or much less a rival. She acts in the role of Queen Mother. In the Old Testament, the mother of the king had a position of honor and great influence. In Heaven, Mama Mary reigns as the highest and most trusted servant of Jesus Christ, the King.
In today's Gospel, our Lord Jesus is like the king in the parable, who is persistent in calling us to the banquet of eternal life. He does not limit his invitation to those who have the right qualifications or are considered dignitaries, He is willing to welcome anyone willing to come so that the hall will be filled with wedding guests. But joining the banquet is not simply attending and saying, "Yes, I will come." More than mere words, we must also change our way of life.
